Charred Light
Charred Light is a showcase of artisanal objects of illumination exploring the tactile and transformative presence of carbonised matter. More than functional objects the works are sculptural characters that challenge ideas of beauty and decay. Scorched surfaces meet crafted light and reveal a mystical poetry. Darkness and glow meet and offer moments of comfort and presence.
Fenna Kosfeld (1999) is a German-born artist and material designer based in Barcelona. Her practice explores the emotional and atmospheric potential of light and natural materials through sculptural light objects, installations, photography, and landscape-based works.
Guided by a tactile, intuitive process, Fenna works at the interplay of light and matter – using material as both medium and metaphor to reflect ecological interconnection and the quiet transformations of matter. Her light objects are often envisioned as sculptural companions that invite stillness, solitude, and presence.
