Piece by Piece: From Textile Waste to Designed Space
With Piece by Piece, Studio Coming Soon aims to show that leftover materials do not have to mark the end of a product’s life, but can instead be the beginning of something new. The textile industry is one of the world’s most polluting industries, with large quantities of high-quality materials going to waste. At the same time, traditional craft techniques and the appreciation for handmade work are increasingly fading into the background.
Driven by a love of textiles and craftsmanship we explore how these material waste streams can be given new meaning. Through natural dyeing processes, handcraft and careful use of materials, discarded textile remnants are transformed into interior objects that are both functional and aesthetically valuable.
The project demonstrates that a sustainable future is not only about consuming less, but also about looking differently at the materials we already have. By giving discarded textiles new life and value, Piece by Piece, an interior emerges where beauty, craftsmanship and circularity come together.
