Pforzheim University
Pforzheim University BA + MA Jewellery; MA Design & Future Making
Humans are a complex species – we are [still] physical beings but can experience the immaterial. We have the capacity to imagine more than we can create, but fully realize our existence through haptic and sensorial interactions. Pforzheim University graduates go beyond, exploring material and human interactions to understand who we are but also where we might be going – dealing with the humanly inherent and direct, the tangible and intangible and explore what this means and could mean through experiments, material approaches, trials and suggestions.
Three departments present graduate work that exists at the intersection of what it means to be human. MA Jewellery artists push the boundaries of jewellery definitions, inviting us to experience material as form in relation to the body and the space around us. BA Jewellery graduation projects explore our relationships to the body through material and form, giving insights to jewellery within a larger context. MA Design & Future Making presents graduation and semester projects dealing with the intersection of the human, the analog and the digital, playfully exploring how human interaction amplifies our relation to each other, technology and social impact.
