Sweet Scope

D15 & D20 series

Sweet Scope is an art & design studio founded in Rotterdam in 2021 by Edern Janneau (FR) & Matthieu Henry (CH). At DDW26 we present our first series of lamps, “D15” & “D20”, alongside “Leaning Sounds”, the interactive sound installation they derive from.

Both share a sensorial language emerging from the ground. In the installation, the volumes carry sound. In the lamps, they carry light. The lamps come in two diameters and six inclinations, from 10 to 60 degrees, forming a scale of postures allowing the light to reach different angles of a space. The lean is the design. At 10°, the lamps stand almost upright, their light reaching the ceiling. At 60°, their glow stretches deeper into the room.

The original idea behind the “D15” & “D20” series is a play between organised rationality and playful disorder, inviting the user to compose their interior with light itself. Entirely handmade in our Rotterdam workshop, these lamps are the sculptural continuation of our everyday artistic practice. Each angle for a mood, every lamp for a way of leaning into the evening.
